Welcome to
Hatley Hollar Boxers
I think you were expecting to hear about Dale & Hilda Hatley and their life with Boxers, and you shall, but first things first. As with any story it's best told by someone who knows the true facts, or fictions. Someone who can be trusted to give accurate information. So we thought it would be best if you heard it straight from the Boxers' mouths.

We are the owners of Dale & Hilda Hatley. Our names are Josie, Prissy, Tater, Maggie Mae, Chance, Breaker, Spot, Gracie. We will start off telling you that the Hatleys have been owned by Boxers for over 27 years.

They started off buying their first Boxer in 1982. They wanted to find a pet for their girls and decided to look for a Boxer. They found a breeder in their area and set out to look at the pups. All of the colored pups had been sold. The only one the breeder had left was a large white male. They fell in love with him right from the start and took him home. They let the girls name him and his name was "Sweetums". He won the hearts and souls of the Hatleys. Although he went to Rainbow Bridge at almost 12 years of age, he still lives on in their hearts.

During the time they had Sweetums, they found a white female, and brought her home. They called her "Sugar Baby". She was a very loving girl. I have heard them talk of her and how she loved life and everyone she came in contact with. She did not live here long, she went to the bridge at the age of 6. Her wonderful heart gave out on her.

I have also heard them talk about a girl named "Sheba". She was a fawn girl about 5 years old when she came here to live. Dale found her in a very small pen at someone's home. He said she was not a happy girl there, so he talked to the people that had her about letting her come to Hatley Hollar to live with them, and they did. She was a sick girl. She had those ugly heartworms and stayed sick for the most of her life. The people that had her were not good to her and she learned from them to not like women and children (I never have been able to understand that). She stayed here for another 5 years before going to the bridge. I think she found happiness before she went to the bridge. I sure am glad!!!

Then, there was "Uglee". He was the third white Boxer to come to Hatley Hollar. Uglee went to Rainbow Bridge in October of 2004. He lived here for 9 and a half years. Uglee gave his all to our family. He had the greatest attitude about life. He was protector, companion, confidant and friend. Dad has always told us, God made Uglee white, like an angel, so when he went to the bridge all they had to do was give him his wings. He was the main man around here and we all miss him very much.

Then there was Holly. She was a lovely fawn girl that lived here with us all for 8 years. Holly was a very loving girl and she and I always had a lot of fun running together and chasing squirrels. I miss her very much.

Those are the Boxers from their past and now for the Boxers of the present......

There is a 12 year old brindle girl here and her name is "Josey". She is the true "Queen" around here. She is named after the 'Outlaw Josey Wales'. She doesn't take crap off of any of us! She is loving and sweet (if you don't aggravate her like we all want to). Josey is the housekeeper now and she keeps everything in line around here (including all of us Boxers).

Next, there is  "Prissy". Prissy is a 10 year old fawn girl. She is very loving and loves everybody and everything. Prissy is Daddy's girl. She loves to lay in his lap on the couch (Daddy say's I can't be still long enough to be on the couch). Prissy was Mom & Dad's first show dog. Although she never finished, she is still a true Champion in their eyes.

Now for me!! My name is "TATER"! I am a 8 year old fawn male and I came here to live from RaAnn Boxers. Mama loves me the best!! Mom taught me how to be a show dog. When I was 15 months old I went to stay with Mr. Earl Overstreet to start my show career. I finished my Championship on February 14th, 2002. I am now known as CH RaAnn's Kiss This @ Hatley Hollar. Earl and I had a lot of fun together. Now I am a stay at home boy.

Now there is "Maggie Mae". She is a 6 year old brindle girl. She came here from Blue Monday Boxers. She was Dad's Father's Day gift. She, too, is a lot of fun. She loves to run alot and play. She keeps me and the others in good shape. She too is a very loving girl.

Now we have Chance. He is a 4 year old brindle boy. Chance was Mom and Dad’s first homebred Champion. Finishing up his championship on sept. 1st 2007. Chance is one of a kind. He is always happy (especially when it comes to eating time ) When he was out on the road showing with Page Conrad & Jason Starr, they would always say he was 700% happy. I remember watching Mom trying to teach him to be a show dog. It was so funny. He could never stand still, but mom kept on trying because she knew he would be a champion some day. But she also use to say to herself, he reminded her of the scare crow in the wizard of oz. He needed to get a brain. What a funny boy to watch even yet today.

Now we have two brothers, Breaker & Spot. They are 3 years old. Breaker is a fawn boy that mom and Dad have hopes one day he will be their next homebred champion. He has 3 points and one BOB. Mom has brought him home to grow up a bit and she will have him back out there trying it again soon. Spot is a big white boy, with a large brown spot right between his ears. So now you know where his name comes from. He and Dad are best of buddies and enjoy spending time together.

Now we have a 6 month old girl, named Gracie. She is out of Maggie Mae and Breaker. Her registered name is Hatley Hollar’s Amazing Grace. Because she was the only pup to survive out of her litter of 4. Mom has really spoiled this one. I always felt she spoiled us all, until Gracie came along. Now Gracie is a plain fawn girl with loads of character. She knows all of the tricks mom could think to teach her. But she has one trick up her sleeve that she taught herself. That is when Dad comes home from work and sits down in his chair, she will go over and lay her head down on his chest and give him the sad puppy eyes ( that is what Mom calls it ) to get a piece of candy from his shirt pocket. Now we all have our ways of getting things from mom & Dad. But Gracie, well I think she has mastered them all. She is a true go getter and we all have fun playing with her.

Now with all of these young ones around here it is not so quiet any more.  But they are fun to watch and from time to time Mom will let me punt them around the yard (with her watching). But someone's got to teach them how to be a BOXER!!!!  So I hope Mom will let me have that job!!!!

So now you know all about us!!!

OH!! I guess you would like to know something about Dale & Hilda Hatley. Well they have been married for 27 years and have two daughters, and 5 grandchildren (I think we have the grandchildren out numbered). They started showing Boxers in 1999. They have met many new people at the shows and made lots of good friends.

So, come and visit us some time and we will be glad to give you plenty of sloppy Boxer kisses, and if you want to you can visit with Dale & Hilda too!!!!
